Summit design and engineering services is providing construction engineering inspections for the NCDOT Railroad Improvements - Graham to Haw River Passing Siding project. This project consists of improvements along the NC Railroad corridor in Alamance County to provide increased capacity and efficiency and improve rail operations. The addition of a passing track will allow trains to pass one another, increase railroad capacity and minimize back-ups. The project will also realign rail curves and reconstruct the track west of Haw River thus allowing increased train speeds and reduced travel times for passenger service.

Summit’s primary role on this project is the inspection of the widening and realigning of the rail corridor for additional track.  This includes clearing & grubbing, blasting for rock excavation, undercut excavation, bore & jack conduits under the track for future utilities, storm drainage, asphalt paving for realigned Pomeroy St. and installation of the track sub ballast.web_size_graham_to_haw_river_passing_siding_1.jpggraham_to_haw_river_passing_siding.jpgweb_size_graham_to_haw_river_passing_siding.jpg
