The Geotechnical Department at Summit Design and Engineering Services is providing subsurface exploration and geotechnical evaluation services for an Energy plant, Water Re-Direction Program. The project consist of the construction of a water treatment facility, ash handling equipment, and a 35 acre retention basin. The proposed structures consist of chemical feed structures, tanks, transformers, clarifiers, silos, pumps, sumps, below grade structures, piping and pipe racks. Summit has provided Geotechnical Engineering and Construction Materials Testing services on several projects for this energy plant; including Dry Fly Ash No. 5 Silo at the Roxboro facility. This silo is currently under construction and will stand 150 ft. tall when complete.
