Summit employee becomes Professional Geologist

HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. - Brett Smith, an employee of Summit Design and Engineering Services, has passed the first and second part of the professional geologist licensing examination, and is now officially a Professional Geologist, (P.G.). 

According to the North Carolina Board for the Licensing of Geologists, there are various requirements to become a licensed geologist in the state. Professional Geologists must be of good moral and ethical character, have graduated from an accredited college or university with a degree in geology or related geological science, pass the examinations established by the Board, have at least five years of professional geological work (with a minimum of three years being under the supervision of a licensed geologist) and five reference letters showcasing the applicant's character, reputation, responsiblity, integrity and competence.
