Experienced VDOT engineer hired to manage Summit’s Virginia office

SOUTH BOSTON, Va. – Summit Design and Engineering Services hired Zachary (Zack) P. Weddle, PE to perform as Virginia Regional Manager, overseeing all projects undertaken through our Virginia office and its professional engineering staff. Mr. Weddle brings over 27 years of experience working for the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) to Summit.

Throughout his time at VDOT, Mr. Weddle has held various positions including Assistant Resident Engineer, Area Construction Engineer and most recently Engineering Manager Special Projects for the Lynchburg District Office.  Mr. Weddle is also a Certified Construction Manager through the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA).

Before joining VDOT in 1987, Mr. Weddle served in the United States Air Force as an engineer assistant specialist. In this role, he performed drafting, surveying, design for buildings and roadway construction, contract administration and inspection of government projects.

Mr. Weddle and his family are Virginia natives, residing in the South Boston/Halifax County area.  His wife, Michelle, is a clinical coordinator for Halifax Regional Hospital’s Center for Behavioral Health.  Their sons Chase and Hunter, along with their wives, live and work locally as well.
