Edmund Purcell, PLS

Senior Vice President
Project Manager

Edmund, one of Summit’s original owners, is licensed to practice land surveying in North Carolina and Virginia. He began his surveying career in the mid-90s, and in 1997 he partnered with Jim Parker, Bill McCarthy, Sherry Jones and Alois Callemyn to form Callemyn-Parker, which ultimately transformed into Summit in 2004. Edmund has a wide array of surveying experience including land surveys, route location and construction layout.

As a project manager, Edmund oversees projects from beginning to end, and ensures that quality work and internal checks and reviews are being performed throughout the entire process. Edmund is quick to give credit to his very capable fellow employees that have helped make Summit a strong company. One of Edmund’s goals is to help individual employees be successful and advance their careers at Summit.

Before he began practicing surveying, Edmund farmed for over 20 years. Today, he, his wife and sons maintain their farm and raise beef cows. Edmund and Anne have three sons and two grandsons. As an alumnus, Edmund pulls for North Carolina State University sports teams. He is also active in his church, Little River Presbyterian Church.
