RALEIGH, N.C. – Summit Design and Engineering Services, PLLC was named the 37th fastest-growing private company in the Triangle by the Triangle Business Journal (TBJ) last night at the Fast 50 Awards. Held at the Raleigh Convention Center, winners enjoyed good food, fun rock music and great company while Fast 50 rankings were announced from 50 to number one.

According to the TBJ, “Fast 50 winners were selected based on a formula that counts revenue growth and profitability in the preceding three years (2011-2013).” PricewaterhouseCoopers fact checked all information submitted by firms to validate it. TBJ’s Fast 50 pools from all private companies in the Triangle, so it is not industry specific. Daniel Shanahan, President and General Agent of MassMutual Raleigh-Durham, announced that there are over 100,000 private companies in the Triangle, and that the Fast 50 represent the top 0.05 percent.

Bryan Hamilton, TBJ Publisher, opened the awards ceremony by welcoming the winners to the 23rd Annual Fast 50 Awards. Hamilton announced that the Fast 50 companies forecast hiring over 5,500 employees in the next year in the Triangle. Summit forecasts hiring an additional 40 employees in the next year, focusing on expanding our Raleigh office.
